Building Humpty Dumpty a tower to see if he will fall off and break his crown Number Rubbings Painting with eggs
Balancing Humpty Dumpty Making patterns on sandpaper with chalk Making sculptures with modeling clay, beads and pipe cleaners. We used pencils to twist our pipe cleaners into spirals. We read the nursery rhyme Baa, Baa Black Sheep and sorted numbers in three bags full. Practice in name writing
A couple of our frogs got to help Mrs. Kunkel out with her story in chapel. Playing with rock salt in the sensory tub Cutting up pieces to make a snowman Writing letters, numbers and shapes in salt (look how happy they are, learning is fun). Ice skating to "Let it Go" with paper plates and waxed paper
We have a hot cocoa station. It was a hit. Shaving Cream and glue make great melted snowmen. They had to roll the die and add snowman parts. We also rolled a ball across the snowman parts in order and then put him together. Drawing Snowmen in our journals
Penguin Math They had to stretch rubber bands across the clipboards and then paint in the sections Trying to move like a penguin with an egg on our feet. We realized that penguins are special to be able to do this. Reading about penguins
Busy in the writing center I think someone might want to be a teacher. Mixing up something yummy in the kitchen Rainbow diamond tracing in our journals I'm sure they mentioned this but we had a visit from Spikey Mikey and he had us rolling with laughter.
Feeding the penguin alphabet fish Self portraits and practicing name writing We did a lesson in following directions. It is so hard to wait patiently for the next set of directions. We are expanding their attention span and teaching them to pay attention to detail. Not to mention broadening their listening skills.
