Hi there families! Here are pics for both days last week. Apparently they didn't post for some reason from last Wednesday. I'm not really sure why that happened because I uploaded them. Technology is unexplainable sometimes. We had a lot of doing: a science experiment, art, sorting and counting, dancing, singing and so much more. The pictures should tell it all. Hi families! We finished up our bat theme on Friday. A few things we did include:
-Cutting squares and covering the letter "S" with them in our journals -Sponge painted with marshmallows to make a bat scene -Played a find the bat under a hat game (color recognition) -Played a bat coloring activity (more and less than, one to one correspondence, fine motor, sharing, taking turns) Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Hi families! We are focusing on bats this week. Some of the things we did include:
-Reading about a bat that thought she was a bird (Stellaluna) -Discussing bat facts and new vocabulary like nocturnal and echolocation -Sang a song about Five Little Bats (simple subtraction) -Made salt art -Sorted in our journals -Practiced finding the letters in our names -Played Harvest Stew with Ms. Kristin (counting,sorting, taking turns, sharing and one to one correspondence) -Danced in Music with Ms. Aline It was a full day! See you tomorrow! We finished up our spider theme today.
-We played a spider game today adding and taking away spider parts -Drew our own spider webs and did some experimenting with magnets -Worked on rhyming with a song -Covered a circle (our monthly shape) with circles in our journals -Graphed whether or not we are afraid of spiders -Painted letters, numbers and shapes with water and brushes outside Enjoy your weekend! Here are some of the things we did: -Visit from fire department (they heard about fire safety, examined parts of the truck, walked through the truck and sprayed the fire hose) -Read a book about spiders and discussed the anatomy of a spider -Drew spiders in our journals -Made spider patterns -Painted with marbles (to look like spider webs) -Sang and acted out the Itsy Bitsy Spider and sang about five little spiders -Worked on recognizing the letters in our names ![]() Hi families! -Reading about a hedgehog and an apple -Collecting and counting apples -Making apple patterns -Writing letters and shapes in applesauce -Counting and making apples out of play-do Have a lovely evening! We had a lot of fun yesterday working with apples. Here are some of the things we did: -Examined and discussed the anatomy and life cycle of an apple -Apple Tasting -Apple Stamping -Graphed our favorite apple -Counted and sorted apples (pom poms) -Predicted if an apple would float or sink and tested it -Read Ten Apples Up On Top -Balanced an apple on our head -Sang a song about apples We also celebrated our first birthday! Happy Birthday J! Last Friday we finished up our five senses theme. Some of the things we did are: -Added parts to Mr. Potato Head by spinning a spinner (mouth,nose,ears,lips and arms/hands) -Experimented more with baking soda and vinegar and color mixing blue and red to make purple -Dot painted squares with Q-tips -Sang the five senses song -Read a book about the senses -Played sound bingo -Decorated crowns I hope you had a great weekend! Friday is Show and Tell for letters B, M or F. Please only have your child bring one item in their bag or box and practice describing it with clues to share with their friends.
