Happy Thanksgiving families! The feast was so nice! I enjoyed talking with all of you. I apologize but for some reason the group picture didn't take on my camera. I hope all of you got one. This week we are focusing on Thanksgiving and for all that we have to be thankful. I am thankful for your children! Yesterday we: -Made pumpkin pie in a cup -Painted turkey's by number -Did a corn experiment making it dance Tomorrow the feast begins at noon! families are welcome! Please dress your child in brown or khaki. They will be wearing a vest that I reuse each year. If you don't mind please take it off before leaving. They can keep the necklace, headpiece and placemat. Show and Tell tomorrow for letter V,T or L. Thank you! This week our theme is turkey's and we are getting ready for our Thanksgiving feast. Today we:
-Laced necklaces -Made pattern headbands -Did a positional activity with turkey's -Read a book about ten turkey's and worked on subtraction -Made candy corn sculptures -Snipped feathers Our feast is next Friday at noon. Families are welcome! Good evening! So we finished up our seasons unit Friday! We:made leaf rubbings in our journals as well as leaf people, weighed pine cones, leaves and acorns, measured fall objects with unifix cubes and painted seasonal trees with Q-tips. Yesterday was a lot of music and movement! Your children were exposed to several different instruments and rhythms through music. We had a guest visitor For the Love of Drums present different drums/instruments to us as well as Ms. Aline in music and movement. We sang about the different seasons and did an absorption activity. We were also able to play outside in the rain a little bit. It was a busy day and I'm guessing your children were exhausted. I know I sure was. Have a blessed evening! Good afternoon! -Discussing circumference and measuring pumpkins -Putting the pumpkins in order from biggest to smallest -Cork painting pumpkin patches -Making shapes with pumpkin play dough -Carving a pumpkin and inspecting the insides -Drawing jack-o-lanterns in our journals Have a blessed day!
